Given there's been so much talk throughout the season about how Liverpool would fare without Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in January, the last thing Jurgen Klopp would have wanted is a 0-0 draw with Arsenal.

The Reds were in control for long spells - thanks in part due to Granit Xhaka's early red card - but were unable to add a ruthless finish to a number of slick moves.

Speaking after the game, Klopp said a number of players are still trying to knock off rust following isolation periods.

Will the Reds be able to stay in title contention without Salah and Mane in the coming weeks?

By the time of his departure, he had won just seven from 20 Premier League games and the team was in 12th position.

Klopp will be hopeful the Reds can bounce back on Sunday and they will be big favourites to get the better of newly-promoted Brentford at Anfield.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has taken a cheeky swipe at Manchester United, comparing the current Red Devils team to the Reds side managed by Roy Hodgson.
