Many things have gone wrong for Liverpool this season. In fact, one of the biggest worries and frustrations is that there is no single factor to be picked out. Certainly, some of the problems are more endemic than in 2020/21, when the defending Premier League champions suffered something of a crisis, requiring a huge effort to secure a top-four finish come the end of the season. Back then, there were no fit senior center-backs, making Champions League qualification feel like a genuine achievement as opposed to a mere salvage job. Liverpool's Luis Díaz and Ibrahima Konaté should be set to share the pitch for the first time this season, perhaps against Man City.
Of course, that’s been one of the major problem areas for Liverpool and Klopp, so it’s no small thing to be missing Thiago and Stefan Baj?eti?.
It’s still far from perfect, and the problems for Liverpool run far deeper than injuries.
