Jurgen Klopp has cautioned new Liverpool signing Florian Wirtz that his price tag will make him a marked man on the pitch.
After negotiating Bayer Leverkusen down from an initial valuation of $176 million, Liverpool officially announced Wirtz’s signing last week.
Despite praising Wirtz as an "outstanding player," the former Reds boss couldn't hide his surprise at the hefty transfer fee during an interview with German newspaper Welt.
"There's no question about it, it's an insane sum, and one that a player at Liverpool is aware of if things don't go well for two or three games" said Klopp.

While Klopp believes the price tag for Wirtz, he may have forgotten he also tried to sign a midfielder for a similar price
