Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Anfield with the fixture set to kick-off at 16:30 BST.

A month ago, this fixture was hyped as a potential Premier League title decider for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Now, the narrative has shifted towards ensuring Klopp’s nine-year tenure ends on a high note, with the focus more on pride than silverware.

Despite the change in stakes, motivation remains high in the Liverpool camp, particularly after a disappointing 2-1 loss to Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September.

In that encounter, a goal by Luis Diaz, which would have leveled the score at 1-1, was controversially disallowed for offside by VAR—a decision that no doubt still irks Liverpool supporters.

Liverpool is currently five points behind leaders Arsenal and four points behind second-placed Manchester City, with just three games remaining.

Additionally, Manchester City has a game in hand, further complicating Liverpool’s challenge.

Andy Robertson is expected to be fit for the upcoming match, having been spotted limping after the game against West Ham.

 Liverpool injury update

Speaking in his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference, the German revealed that Diogo Jota:

“Diogo Jota is not in team training yet, Conor (Bradley) is.

Virgil wasn’t in team training this whole week.”

“He was part of some parts of team training this week, but we will have to see what we can do there.”

The German did not disclose exactly what the issue is with the Liverpool skipper and why he has not been training as normal.

Diogo Jota looks set now to miss most of the season now having already sat out games against Everton and West Ham in the Premier League.

Liverpool qualified for the Champions League last night after Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea.

Speaking more broadly on the season, Jurgen Klopp believes that qualification to the Champions League is an achievement on its own:

“It is an achievement?

Perspective changes over the course of the season.”

“The pressure is off now, if we could play our best football now that would be really nice.”
