Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has had his say on Xabi Alonso's decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen.
The former midfielder confirmed his decision to stay put at the Bundesliga club, meaning the Reds will have to look elsewhere for their next manager.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has admitted he understands Xabi Alonso's decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, rather than move on this summer.
The 42-year-old had been linked with succeeding Klopp at Anfield, as well as the Bayern Munich job.

In a comparison with his own early years in management, Klopp explained why Alonso may have come to his decision to stay in the Bundesliga.
The Liverpool boss chose not to comment on Alonso's links to Liverpool though, and what it might mean for the club's search for a new manager.

"The one part I can speak about is a young manager being at a club where he’s doing really well," Klopp explained in his press conference.
For the other stuff, it’s nothing I have to say to be honest."
Speaking about Sunday's game against Brighton, Klopp added: "Independent of the other game obviously.
It’s really impressive, a different way of playing football."
