Bournemouth stars delivered a response after the Cherries agreed another new deal at the club.

Bournemouth have had a mixed start to the campaign, with two wins in the Premier League out of three games, but also suffering an early exit in the Carabao Cup at the hands of Brentford.

Andoni Iraola’s side has seen plenty of changes with several exits as Dean Huijsen left to sign for Real Madrid, Illia Zabarnyi moved to PSG, and Milos Kerkez completed a move to Liverpool.

Still, the side had a busy window of incoming as seven new players were brought in with Bournemouth completing deadline-day deals for Alex Jimenez and Veljko Milosavljevic.

The club hierarchy have continued to demonstrate their ambition, confirming a contract extension for a player, which drew an immediate response from several of the squad’s stars.

Bournemouth announced on 9 September that defender James Hill has signed an extension at the club until 2029.

The club posted the announcement on Instagram and saw plenty of reaction, with Ryan Christie sending heart-eyed emojis while Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier liked the post.

This comes just days after Tavernier also agreed a new deal at Bournemouth, as the club aim to protect key players from leaving on cut-price transfers.

Hill was linked to a move to Leeds earlier in the transfer window, but the Cherries decided to keep the defender, and he has now committed his future to the club.

He has played a more prominent role in the side this season as he’s featured in all four of this season’s fixtures, and has made 28 appearances for the club in all competitions during his time at the Vitality Stadium.

Following a summer of departures at the back, there is a clear void in defence despite the new signings.

Bournemouth were interested in a move for Disasi in the window, which may have allowed Hill to depart, but a move didn’t materialise.

In response, the club acted swiftly to secure Hill’s future, especially after failing in their attempt to secure Disasi.

The 23-year-old has also played a part in each of Bournemouth’s fixtures, suggesting his growing importance after a summer of significant changes.
