Chelsea supporters have fired a collective dig at Fulham for awarding Josh King their goal of the month award for August.
The news comes even though King’s goal was disallowed when Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on 30 August.
Subsequent goals from Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez saw Chelsea earn a victory over their West London rivals Fulham.
That result saw Enzo Maresca’s side sitting second in the Premier League table heading into the international break, having earned two wins and a draw from three top-flight fixtures.
Contrastingly, Fulham remain winless in the Premier League this term, having endured draws with both Brighton and Manchester United before being beaten at Stamford Bridge.
The newly promoted Whites will be desperate to earn their second win of the Premier League campaign, after suffering a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal and enduring a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United, either side of an early Carabao Cup exit.
The Blues are eager to establish themselves as a Premier League title contender, after winning both the Conference League and the Club World Cup last season.
Meanwhile, responding to the news that Fulham gave King their goal of the month award, one Chelsea fan commented on X: “Pathetic club”, while another said: “Small club mentality.”
