Everton could be about to complete a huge appointment according to their former CEO Keith Wyness.
David Moyes’ side have had an impressive start to the season, and currently sit sixth in the Premier League table after four games.
It was a busy summer transfer window for the Toffees, who brought the likes of Jack Grealish to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as they look to improve on last year’s 13th-place finish.
Last week (13 September), Football Insider exclusively revealed that former Brighton technical director David Weir is close to rejoining Everton as part of their recruitment team.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Weir would be a huge asset to his former side.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Weir is a great talent and it would be “brilliant” if he moved into a senior position at Everton.
The Scotsman spent eight years at the Merseyside club as a player, between 1999 and 2007, before returning in 2012 to begin his coaching career.

Wyness added that he would be over the moon if Weir did complete a move back to Everton for the third time, as he has huge respect for the 55-year-old.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “If he were to come back, that would be a huge asset for Everton.
“So look, I would be really be over the moon if David comes back to Everton.
I have huge respect for him and I think he’s got great talent, so yes, very positive.”
Meanwhile, Everton will be forced into the free transfer market if they get any more injuries at full-back, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees are light on both flanks after failing to suitably reinforce during the summer transfer window, with Vitalii Mykolenko’s injury amplyifying the situation.

Jake O’Brien and James Garner are filling in well for Everton currently and have put in a number of good performances despite being out of position.
However, sources say that if David Moyes’ side are hit by more injuries or suspensions, then they may be forced to explore the free transfer options.
