Celtic will agree a contract extension with Kelechi Iheanacho down the line if the striker continues to score goals, sources have told Football Insider.
Iheanacho scored a last-minute winner on his debut, as the Hoops scraped past Kilmarnock on Sunday (14 September).
The Nigerian signed a deal with Brendan Rodgers‘ side until the end of this season, following his departure from Sevilla in the summer.
However, sources say that Celtic will consider extending his current contract if he continues to score goals and win them games.

After selling Adam Idah to Swansea City at the end of the summer transfer window, Celtic left themselves very light up top.
Iheanacho should be given plenty of opportunities to shine as a result, and he could spark his career back into life.
The 28-year-old first came to the fore in the 2015-16 season, when he scored eight Premier League goals in 26 appearances for Manchester City as a youngster.

He eventually moved to Leicester City, where he worked under Rodgers for a period, and performed to a reasonable level.
However, since his departure from the King Power Stadium, Iheanacho has underwhelmed, so the switch to Celtic is a real chance to get back on track.
Meanwhile, Celtic will not allow Daizen Maeda to leave in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Maeda has admitted that he wanted a move away from Celtic in the summer, but the club blocked his potential transfer.
Following the revelation, there has been concern within the Hoops fanbase that the 27-year-old could try to force an exit when the window reopens.
However, sources say that the Japanese international is likely to be leading the line for Rodgers‘ side due to their lack of depth in forward areas, meaning they cannot afford to let him go mid-season.
