Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher's was given permission to leave the Ireland camp as his ten-year stay at Liverpool appears to be coming to an end with the Corkman closing in on a move to Brentford.

The Republic of Ireland are training in Dublin this morning and the FAI confirmed that the keeper was "given permission to return to the UK", but is fully expected to be back in time for Friday's international encounter with Senegal.

.

A long-time back-up to Alisson Becker, Kelleher has enjoyed severable memorable moments with the Merseysiders.

He kept a clean sheet as Liverpool won 1-0 after extra-time.

He played his part in the team's Premier League title victory this season, deputising impressively for Alisson Becker who missed a significant chunk of the campaign due to injury.

A number of clubs were monitoring Keleher, whose contract at Liverpool expires next summer, but it seems Brentford have won the race, according to media reports in England.

Kelleher has been included in Heimir Hallgrimsson's 24-man Ireland squad for the friendlies against Senegal at Aviva Stadium on Friday 6 June and away to Luxembourg four days later.
