Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly made a decision on his future beyond Manchester City, and it won’t include Liverpool.

The Reds were claimed to be a potential destination for the Belgian midfielder this summer as his decade-long stint at the Etihad Stadium comes to an end.

He is set to become a free agent when his contract expires, and rumours briefly linked Liverpool with a potential move, although the ECHO understands the Reds are not currently looking at signing him.

That said, it didn’t stop Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah from publicly encouraging De Bruyne to make the switch to Anfield.

In an interview with Sky Sports last week, the Egyptian paid tribute to the midfielder’s outstanding City career, while jokingly adding at the end: “We have space for him!”

Although De Bruyne didn’t rule out the possibility of talks with other English clubs following City’s FA Cup final defeat over the weekend, it now appears he has ruled out staying in the Premier League altogether.

I don’t think he’d want to play against Manchester City in the future.”
