Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly pondering two dramatically different options ahead of his imminent Manchester City exit.

The Belgian has not been offered an extension by the Blues and will leave upon the expiration of his contract at the end of June after cementing himself as a legend of both the club and the Premier League over the past decade.

It is understood that De Bruyne wanted to stay at the Etihad Stadium, and transferring to another English side was not initially ruled out by the playmaker.

However, recent reports indicate that De Bruyne will not stay in England.

Chicago Fire owner Joe Mansueto has reportedly pitched the move to De Bruyne by offering to mentor him on business matters in preparation for his retirement.

De Bruyne would become the Chicago Fire posterboy and one of the most recognisable names in the division if he makes the move.

But he also has the chance to remain in Europe if he feels he has more to offer in the Champions League and wants to bolster his trophy cabinet with silverware from one of the other 'big five' leagues.

Napoli have reportedly emerged as the leading European contenders to land De Bruyne this summer.

De Bruyne turns 34 before his City contract expires and he will leave Manchester with six Premier League titles, seven domestic cups and a Champions League crown.
