Alexander Isak finally secured his sensational move away from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day, joining Liverpool.
In response, Newcastle immediately reinvested their new fortune in Yoane Wissa from Brentford, a long-term transfer target of the Tyneside club.
Like Isak, Wissa went on strike on Brentford, and the West London club finally sanctioned the move as Newcastle met their lofty £55m valuation.

Alongside Wissa, Newcastle added Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade for a club-record fee of over £60m, to partner the ex-Brentford man.
On X (formerly Twitter), xG Philosophy highlighted one stat that may be of interest to Newcastle United fans.
The stat suggests that Wissa actually generated more expected goals from open play than Isak did last season in the Premier League.
