Newcastle players were quick to react after the club confirmed the departure of another player during what has already been a busy summer of comings and goings.
Eddie Howe’s side have been active throughout the transfer window, with a mix of high-profile arrivals and exits, all while dealing with the ongoing situation of Alexander Isak, who is pushing for a move away from Newcastle.
The window has brought frustration for Newcastle fans, with several targets opting for other clubs — Hugo Ekitike chose Liverpool, while Benjamin Sesko preferred a move to Manchester United over joining Newcastle.
Despite that, the Magpies have strengthened their squad with signings including Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale and Malik Thiaw.
However, departures have also been a feature of the summer.
Lloyd Kelly, Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff are among those to have left, as the club continues its process of rebuilding.
Now, with the transfer window set to close on 1 September, Newcastle have confirmed yet another exit, adding to a summer of rebuilding.

While Newcastle have seen several permanent departures this summer, loan moves have also been part of their squad management.
Matt Targett has officially completed a loan switch to Middlesbrough for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Targett initially joined Newcastle on loan in January 2022 before making a permanent £15 million move later that year.
However, his role has been reduced in recent months with the emergence of Lewis Hall at left-back.
Earlier in the year, Targett had been linked with a move to Leeds, but that interest cooled after the West Yorkshire side signed Gabriel Gudmundsson, leaving Middlesbrough free to swoop in for the experienced defender.

Despite significant changes to the squad this summer, Newcastle remain in the market for a striker, whether Isak stays or leaves.
Reports suggest Newcastle are set to plot another bid for Jorgen Strand Larsen, with two previous bids already rejected for the Norwegian forward.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Newcastle may need to overpay for Strand Larsen, particularly with the window closing and Wolves left scrambling to find a replacement.
While a £60 million fee has been suggested, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle will meet the asking price to secure the striker before the deadline.
