Jurgen Klopp pinpoints Liverpool drop-off factor

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool have become ‘too easy’ to play against.

Klopp saw his side bow out of the Europa League’s quarter final stage after failing to overturn a three-goal deficit in their second leg against Atalanta.

The Reds also suffered a drop-off in the Premier League title bid ahead of Sunday’s trip to Fulham, with two points separating them from the summit.

But the outgoing German is still adamant that his Anfield tenure can end on a high in the coming weeks if his players are able to rediscover familiar form.

“There is no season where there were no moments I thought: ‘Ah, we should have won that, we should have done that’,” said Klopp.

“It is part of life that you have to deal with them. It is never about how many punches you get, it is always how you deal with them. That’s how we have to deal with the situation.

“That’s the challenge in football because we never play just for ourselves, we always have an opponent.

“So we have to make sure we become that opponent for each team again that they don’t want to play against.

“We made it a bit too easy and we should change that.”
