Kostas Tsimikas is currently out on loan at AS Roma.
To play for the Reds is a real honour, and sometimes in the modern world, some players may perhaps take it for granted with or without realisation.
One player who never did, however, was left-back Tsimikas, with the ‘Greek scouser’ truly understanding what it meant to play for Liverpool.
The fans love him as one of their own, and despite moving to Italy for a season-long loan, that is still very much the case.
And, despite Tsimikas being away, what he has just done has truly shown just how much he loves Liverpool as a whole.

The 29-year-old has never been the regular starter at left-back for Liverpool due to the ever-reliable Andy Robertson being in front of him.
However, he never stopped working and he still managed to rack up a fair few appearances over the five years he has been there.
He has also popped up with some very important contributions, such as scoring the winning penalty in the 2022 FA Cup final or providing the assist for Virgil van Dijk’s header to win the Carabao Cup in 2024.

All these things have made him adored on the red half of Merseyside and the feelings have always been mutual, with the Greek international only proving that further.
Despite being a Roma player for the remainder of the season, Tsimikas has updated his Instagram bio so that it now reads ‘Scouser in Rome’, rather than the conventional ‘football player for AS Roma’ as many would have opted for.

This subtle touch shows just how much he enjoys being an adopted scouser, with this a small thing that will go a long way among the unwaveringly loyal fanbase.
Not only could this be a subtle hint that the player himself is planning to return to Liverpool and fight for his place in a year’s time, but the club may have already been preparing for this.
Selling Tsimikas always seemed to be the obvious choice, but the Reds opted for a loan move instead.
This could, of course, be as no one was willing to pay what they were asking, but it could also be a short-term plan before Robertson eventually departs.
The Scotsman’s contract expires next summer, the same time Tsimikas is expected back, suggesting the 31-year-old could depart on a free and the Greek defender regains his spot as second-choice.
A lot will depend on how he gets on in Rome, however, but all the signs suggest that Tsimikas is keen to return to the city he clearly loves.
