Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has posted a cryptic message on social media - amid the Reds' interest in AFC Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez.

The left-back became the first player from Greece to win the Premier League following the crowning moment for Arne Slot's side on Sunday afternoon.

The 29-year-old registered 18 appearances in the Premier League last season, but failed to land a regular starting berth as he couldn't manage to usurp Andy Robertson in the starting XI.

Tsimikas was the topic of interest last summer, but remained at Anfield, though with reports ramping up over possible additions in his full-back position, his future remains uncertain.

Tsimikas' post on social media after Liverpool embarked on a historic trophy parade around the city will only fuel rumours after an emotional message.

"As a kid kicking a ball in Greece, I could never imagine this day - lifting the Premier League as a @liverpoolfc player," he wrote on social media platform Instagram.

"Five years at this club have taught me what it means to never walk alone; this city, this team, and these fans carried us through every step.

"I'm overwhelmed with pride in what we've achieved and gratitude for everyone who stood by us.

"We overcame every challenge together.

"Greek Scouser's heart is forever with Liverpool."

Liverpool are favourites to sign Kerkez, an international teammate of Reds star Dominik Szoboszlai, and reports recently have suggested that talks will intensify between the two representatives.

Former Reds defender John Arne Riise recently said that the left-back department was a position that Liverpool should add reinforcements - adding that he felt more competition was needed for the Scotland captain.

"He hasn't played to his normal best we're used to seeing, he's honest about it himself," Riise told the ECHO.

"He still has a couple more years ahead of him, but he needs a bigger challenge on the left-back position, I don't think Tsimikas is the one who is good enough, or strong enough to challenge Robertson.

"We need a new left-back either to compete with Robertson or be the first-choice.

"I'm sure Robertson will show up for pre-season knowing that this season hasn't been at his best, he will show the people that doubt him that he will be back to his best.

I'm quite sure we’ll need another left-back.

"When you play for the same club for so many years, you can get into the trap of being complacent and that could affect performances - I felt that in that last season with Rafa, I knew that I haven't been up to the best, I wasn't first in the gym, last out, giving 100 per cent - I thought I did but, looking back, I didn't.

"It happens sometimes, when you're comfortable with your position at the club, maybe that happened, it's normal but now he has the chance to start fresh and come back.

"If he does that, he will be number one choice - but he needs better competition than Tsimikas."
