Mohamed Salah continued to break record after record last season and it would be no surprise to see him carry this on.
The Reds had a simply stunning first season under Arne Slot which saw some players step up while others continued to shine.
Salah was one of those who showed real character and looked even better than previous years, if that is even possible.
He finished as the Premier League’s top goalscorer, top assister and, of course, won the Player of the Year award, with his performances getting the recognition they deserve.
However, one award that has escaped his grasp thus far in his career is the Ballon d’Or, the most illustrious trophy of them all, and one that Salah will be desperate to get his hands on.
The Egyptian has done all he can to finally win it, so now it is just a waiting game, although his teammate Kostas Tsimikas is pretty confident about who will win it.

It has always been a contentious award, with no one really understanding whether it is based on individual performances or what trophies a player has won.
Of course, both are meant to be taken into consideration, but sometimes players who probably deserve to win it end up missing out, most notably Robert Lewandowski in 2021.

This year, there are arguably more potential winners than ever before due to so many shining for their clubs, although Tsimikas believes that his teammate deserves it more than the rest.
When asked for a TikTok video to stay quiet until he hears who should win the award, the ‘Greek Scouser’ skipped past 12 players, including the likes of Raphinha, Lamie Yamal and Harry Kane, before speaking once Salah was mentioned.
“Yeah I think so [that he is the best player in the world right now],” Tsimikas gave as his reasoning for choosing Salah.

“For sure [he can win it], he has a big chance to do it.”
The ceremony for the award will take place on September 22nd, meaning the Egyptian will have to wait a little longer to see if he does indeed finally win it, although as of right now, it could go either way.
As mentioned, the Ballon d’Or can be somewhat of a taboo topic, with footballers usually staying out of the debate to avoid upsetting teammates or players they play with for their national team.
However, many Liverpool players have already had their say, with Ibrahima Konate believing Ousmane Dembele deserves to win it, a very controversial take that Reds fans will almost certainly not agree with.
Ryan Gravenberch disagreed with Konate, though, and he strongly thinks that Salah should get the award, agreeing with Tsimikas.
Either way, whether he wins it or not, Liverpool fans know just how good he is and that is all that matters, although it would be nice for the Reds to officially have the best player in the world.
