Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has liked a transfer 'update' regarding their record-breaking pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
The first stage of the transfer window has closed after clubs were permitted to make signings prior to the Club World Cup between June 1 and June 10 but the Reds' pursuit of the Germany international dominated the landscape.
Reports emerged on Tuesday evening that Liverpool had struck a record-breaking £126million deal to sign the playmaker, appearing to bring an end to the saga.
However, the ECHO reported late last night that the Reds were still in negotiations with the Bundesliga club and claims of an agreement were dismissed as premature by sources at both clubs.
Liverpool remain in talks with Leverkusen after tabling a series of formal bids including the third of which was submitted a week ago that consisted of £100m guaranteed with £14m in add-ons.

But it was reported from certain factions that a deal had been verbally agreed upon between all parties.
One post in particular came from Fabrizio Romano who posted on Instagram: "HERE WE GO!

"Verbal agreement in principle between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, deal worth up to €150m add-ons included for Florian Wirtz to become new Reds star.
"All agreed on player side since two weeks ago… and finally all set also between clubs for Wirtz to move.
"WIRTZ COMING TO ANFIELD."
The post received 1.9million likes, at the time of writing, and among them was Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas.
The Greek defender got a closer look at the prospective Reds signing following their encounter with Leverkusen during their Champions League League Phase encounter in November.

Liverpool would run out 4-0 winners, inspired by Luis Diaz's second-half hat-trick with Cody Gakpo on target after doubling the lead two minutes after the Colombian's first of the evening.
Wirtz has been in action with Germany in the last two weeks with Julian Nagelsmann's side pushing to win the UEFA Nations League in Germany.
The 22-year-old featured but couldn't inspire a first triumph in the competition as they were edged out by Portugal in the semi-final before losing the third-placed playoff to France on Sunday.

However, Wirtz was on target against the eventual winners Portugal, who beat Spain on penalties, as he headed in the opener during last week's encounter which saw Diogo Jota's side score twice to overturn their deficit.
