Kostas Tsimikas is close to leaving Liverpool this summer, with the club now open to a loan exit for the Greek left-back. This development follows the signing of Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and the continued presence of Andrew Robertson, who together push Tsimikas down the pecking order as the third-choice left-back for manager Arne Slot.
Tsimikas has accepted that his playing chances will be limited at Liverpool for the 2025–26 season. He has already been left out of Liverpool’s squads for key matches, including the Community Shield against Crystal Palace and the Premier League opener against Bournemouth. This exclusion has reinforced his willingness to seek playing time elsewhere.

Initially, Liverpool sought a permanent transfer for the 29-year-old, whose contract runs until 2027, but with the transfer window nearing its close and lacking firm bids, the club is reportedly softening their stance to entertain loan offers. This shift is seen as a way to facilitate Tsimikas' departure more quickly, freeing up a spot and potentially aiding Liverpool’s efforts to secure further reinforcements.
Tsimikas joined Liverpool from Olympiacos in 2020, making 115 appearances without scoring but contributing 18 assists, primarily serving as backup to Robertson. The arrival of Kerkez and Robertson’s expected retention at Anfield limit Tsimikas' opportunities, prompting rumors linking him with clubs like Nottingham Forest, who have yet to fill their left-back position.
Liverpool’s summer transfer activity has been busy, and offloading Tsimikas might be part of a broader strategic plan to finalize their squad. While their Premier League title defense is underway, the club is still linked with possible moves for players like Marc Guehi and Alexander Isak, showing their intent to be active in the transfer market ahead of the window’s close.
