Alexander Isak is likely to end up at Liverpool by the end of the transfer window amid his ongoing transfer saga at Newcastle.
That is according to Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier, who exclusively told Football Insider that he believes the Reds will offer a bigger bid for his services to get the deal done.
The Swedish striker played no part in the Magpies’ first Premier League game on Saturday (16 August) against Aston Villa amid his ongoing revolt and desire to join Liverpool this summer.
Isak released a shock statement about his Newcastle situation on Tuesday (19 August) evening, insisting that promises had been “broken” by the club and they had “lost” his trust regarding an agreement that he believes had been made to allow him to depart this summer.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (15 August) that Isak looks increasingly likely to move to Anfield soon as long he keeps refusing to play, but that move looks no closer to materialising as yet, despite him choosing to go public with his grievances.

This article contains exclusive comment from former Southampton and England striker Matt Le Tissier.
The Swede is refusing to feature for Newcastle until he is allowed to join the Reds, but Liverpool’s first bid for Isak was rejected by the Magpies, who were unwilling to let him go for a package totalling £120million, and a second offer is yet to be submitted.

Newcastle have officially responded to Isak’s statement by insisting that he “remains under contract” and that “no commitment has ever been made by a club official” allowing him to depart the club this summer.
Despite their current standoff, Le Tissier told Football Insider that he believes that it is more conceivable that Isak is a Liverpool player, rather than still at Newcastle, by the end of the window on 1 September.
“What happens next?
Well, there are two scenarios, Newcastle dig their heels in and go without a centre-forward, they leave him to train with the kids for a while and forfeit a whole lot of money on a transfer fee, or secondly, Liverpool come in with a bigger bid and the deal gets done,” he told Football Insider.
“Isak would probably have to sacrifice a little bit of the cash that he thinks he is owed by Newcastle, there’s the two scenarios.
What’s the most likely?
I think him ending up a Liverpool player is probably the more likely at this stage, but this is football, and you never know.”
While a deal to take Isak to Anfield is no closer to completion as yet, that could change in the latter stages of the window if the Reds do bump up their offer to a suitable amount.
The Magpies have made it clear that they do not want to sell him this summer, but money talks, and if Liverpool do go in with a £150m bid soon, then he will surely end up on Merseyside by the start of next month.

He has understandably been untouchable in the transfer market as far as Newcastle are concerned this summer, but the situation is completely beyond repair now that he has gone public with his issues, and any bid that reaches such a huge figure will surely now be accepted due to the circumstances.
The Swede currently has three years left on his contract, so the Magpies do not have to sell him by any means this summer, but if a bid of £150m comes in from the Anfield outfit, then they must let him leave to put an end to this ongoing saga and allow each party to swiftly move on.
