Liverpool players have been lapping up applause from across the globe after securing the Premier League title.
The Reds took in the acclaim of local fans on Monday, as record numbers turned out to watch them parade their trophy through the streets of Liverpool.
But the Premier League’s wider appeal means that support is not limited to those on Merseyside, with Liverpool boasting a global appeal as big as any club.
The Reds have many famous fans, with basketball legend LeBron James perhaps one of the more well-known.
As well as being a Liverpool supporter, James is a part-owner of the club, and can regularly be seen sporting Reds’ shirts and merchandise.
And having seen the Liverpool squad win an unexpected Premier League title, the 40-year-old sent a personalised video message to the players.
But with James giving a nod to two ‘captains’ of the team, he brilliantly overlooked Trent Alexander-Arnold.

James is one of the most well-known figures in all of sport having enjoyed a hugely successful 22-year career in the NBA.
His association with Liverpool is a source of pride for the club and has undoubtedly widened their appeal across North America.

How much of the actual football James sees is perhaps dubious, but according to the Liverpool ECHO he did take time out to record a video message to the players which was screened during their end-of-season party after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
“I want to say congratulations to the champions of the English Premier League, once again bringing home another trophy,” James said.

“You know it is always special to do it with a group of guys that you love.
Love you guys.”
While James was obviously just shouting out the team’s two best players, it will be mildly amusing for Liverpool fans to hear Alexander-Arnold left out in this way.
Given the phrasing, you can just imagine that the vice-captain was not best pleased.
Nevertheless, it does highlight what plenty have known for a long time: Mohamed Salah simply has to be Liverpool’s second-in-command.
The Egyptian is not only a superb player, he is a phenomenal leader who others look up to to set the standards.
With Alexander-Arnold leaving, he has to become number two to Van Dijk.
James knows it, and the rest of the fanbase do too.
