NBA superstar LeBron James has sent his prayers to everyone affected by the "senseless act" that left 27 people hospitalised during Liverpool's victory parade on Bank Holiday Monday.
A 53-year-old man from the Liverpool area was arrested after a car ploughed into people on Water Street while the Reds celebrated their recent Premier League title success.
Several roads near Water Street - including Dale Street and Chapel Street - remained closed on Tuesday morning while the city's Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, said four of the 47 people injured were still "very, very ill".
Liverpool Football Club said they are in direct contact with Merseyside Police and would continue to offer "full support" to the emergency services and local authorities.

Meanwhile, LA Lakers superstar James, who once held a stake in Liverpool FC before exchanging it for a share in Fenway Sports Group's global empire, sent his "thoughts and prayers" to all those affected by Monday's events.
Writing on X, the 40-year-old said: "OMG!!!!
My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected who attended @LFC Premier League trophy parade today!
YNWA".

Following the harrowing incident on Monday night, Liverpool FC made the decision to cancel a number of events scheduled for Tuesday.
Staff in a number of departments at Liverpool were due to hold internal events on Tuesday to mark the team's achievement during their first season with Arne Slot in charge as head coach.
However, they were informed on Monday evening that those celebrations have now been called off.
In an email seen by BBC News, the club stated they “will continue to offer our full support to the emergency services and local authorities” and encouraged staff to come together at this time to support each other”.
