Arsenal’s series of big-money signings could leave Leandro Trossard facing the exit door at the Emirates this summer.

Mikel Arteta has spent big in an effort to close last season’s gap on Liverpool in the Premier League title race, with Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke both signed to strengthen Arsenal‘s frontline this summer.

With Madueke and Gyokeres set to compete with Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Trossard in Arteta’s front three next season, the Belgian could find himself on the outer.

Former Man United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Trossard is ready to leave Arsenal this summer with regular first-team minutes on his mind, as further competition could also be set to arrive.

Trossard isn’t the only Arsenal player facing a challenge for his place this season, as Christian Norgaard also has no guarantee of a starting spot after his £10million move from Brentford earlier this summer.

Norgaard arrived at the Emirates after Martin Zubimendi‘s own move to North London, and the £55.8m former Real Sociedad midfielder is likely to start at the base of Arteta’s front six instead of Norgaard.

The Dane posted on Instagram on 13 August with a message to Arsenal’s fans, following his first appearances in Gunners colours at the Emirates in their friendlies against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao.

Football Insider Verdict

Trossard has received “concrete offers” to leave Arsenal this summer amid interest from clubs in Italy, Germany, Turkey and two in the Premier League, with all signs pointing towards the 30-year-old’s exit.

The Gunners are also in a race against time to sign Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, with a £68m release clause set to expire on 15 August as Arsenal compete with rivals Tottenham for his signature.

Eze‘s arrival would undoubtedly provide further competition on the left flank as well as central midfield, and this could leave the writing on the wall for Trossard’s future with a late-window departure lined up.
