Leeds United have been tipped to make a last-minute bid to re-sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.
Phillips is expected to leave Man City before the window closes, three years after joining the club from Leeds for a fee of around £40million.
The 29-year-old has spent the last 18 months out on loan, first at West Ham and then at Ipswich Town, and is currently well down the pecking order at the Eithad.
Throughout the summer, Phillips has been linked with a return to Leeds, but as of yet there have been no concrete offers made.
However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Daniel Farke’s side may make a move for the midfielder late on in the window.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Leeds will likely only make a bid for the former England international when his price tag has dropped.

Last month, Football Insider revealed that Phillips will only leave City once he has recovered from Achilles surgery.
Wyness added that the ex-Leeds man could rediscover some of his best form if he completes a move back to his old side.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Kalvin didn’t really set it on fire at Man City.
Let him come back with a good club mentality, a fighting club, and a nice set of lads in the dressing room.
He’s had some injury issues as well that he’s had to come back from, so they wouldn’t be getting the same Kalvin Phillips back that everybody remembers.
Of course, everybody’s got a price, and he may be one of those last-minute window deals.
“Leeds may just be the place that he could come back and rediscover his form, because there’s been some great memories there for him.
“I think he’s going to be a last-minute buy in the window.
It may go to the last week or even the last few days if it’s going to happen, because it will be a price issue about the risk factor of the whole deal.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly planning to accept £15m offers for defender Kostas Tsimikas in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the 29-year-old has no place in Arne Slot’s plans for the future.
Slot made a clear statement about the left-back’s position in his team after he was left out of the squad during the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace.
Brown told Football Insider in May that Leeds are interested in signing Tsimikas and will rival Nottingham Forest for his signature.
