Leeds United are in talks to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham with the Welshman scheduled to land later this afternoon.

After seemingly having a deal between Leeds and Aston Villa for Emi Buendia rejected, it is back to the drawing board for the Peacocks who are looking to end their frustrating transfer window on a high.

Daniel Farke would have been gutted to have missed out on Facundo Buonanotte who joined Chelsea on a season-long loan as they scramble for an alternative.

In the dying embers of the transfer window, it appears Wilson could be the answer to their winger woes as they try to bring him in quickly.

As per Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Graham Smyth on X (1 September), the Whites look to be in for the Fulham winger who is currently with the Welsh national team in Cardiff.

The journalist importantly added: “Coincidentally, there’s a jet arriving from Cardiff to Leeds Bradford Airport later this afternoon”, hypothesising that it could be the Wales international boarding the flight.

Smyth also added that if the deal was to get over-the-line, “barring any later insanity”, this would be the “last addition” for the Yorkshire outfit.

Considering the lack of wide options for Farke at Elland Road, the signing of the 28-year-old would be a superb bit of business.

The number eight has had his struggles with injury in recent campaigns which has stunted his output, yet there is a quality player in there for sure.

Having worked his way up from the Championship to the Premier League, Wilson will also understand the importance of the Peacocks staying up in the English top-flight this seasons.

He would almost certainly where his heart on his sleeve to perform to a high level for the Yorkshire outfit whilst also giving Dan James a run for his money on the right-hand side.

Moreover, given the Cottagers interest in Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk and the expected arrival of Tyrique George from Chelsea, it is highly possible the Welshman feels his starting spot is under threat.

The chance to play regularly for the Whites seems an ideal proposition as of now and could be key to the German keeping his side up this year in the Premier League.
