Premier League returnees Leeds United have added a former Liverpool defender to their ranks ahead of the new season.

Liverpool’s summer transfer window has featured both new signings and a few outgoings.

Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez have been the headline signings this summer.

The trio are joined by Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman and Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was signed last summer.

Meanwhile, on the flip side, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Nat Phillips, and Jarell Quansah have secured permanent moves away from Liverpool this summer.

But apart from these first-team stars, other players have also left the club permanently in this window.

Last month, Liverpool announced that they had released seven players.

The departures include Dominic Corness, Louis Enahoro-Marcus, Harry Evers, Lee Jonas, Jakub Ojrzynski, Jacob Poytress, and Reece Trueman, all of whom will leave upon the expiration of their contracts.

Brentford have since snapped up two of the youngsters released by Liverpool, with the latest Bees scholarship announcements revealing that Layton Nicholls and Nathaniel Ogungbemi have both made the switch from Liverpool’s academy to join Brentford’s development setup.

Leeds have now snapped up another Liverpool youngster who was released at the end of his contract.

The player in question is 18-year-old defender Louis Enahoro-Marcus.

The Nigerian-born defender has been with Liverpool for almost ten year and made 16 appearances for the club’s U18 in the U18 Premier League North last campaign, scoring one goal.

He has now joined Leeds United on a two-year deal.

“Leeds United are pleased to announce the signing of Louis Enahoro-Marcus, who will link up with the club’s Academy after penning a two-year deal,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

“Everyone at Leeds United would like to welcome Louis to the club, and we look forward to seeing his development with the Whites.”
