Manor Solomon’s path back to Leeds United this summer has been cleared after Thomas Frank’s latest comments at Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson said that he wants to see Leeds push for Solomon’s signature this summer.
Solomon contributed to 22 of Leeds’ 95 goals last season as they won promotion and the Championship title, which was sealed on the final day against Plymouth with a last-minute goal from the Spurs loanee.
Leeds confirmed Solomon’s return to North London on 1 July, but Robinson told Football Insider that the Israel winger would be a “big, important player” next season if he returns to Elland Road permanently.

The chances of Solomon being on the move this summer have been given a boost after Frank failed to mention the 26-year-old in an interview with Football.London, when listing Tottenham‘s left wing options.
Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel were all name-checked as potential successors to the outgoing Son Heung-min, and Robinson has told Football Insider that Solomon‘s absence from that list could be a telling sign.

This article contains exclusive comment from Paul Robinson, a football pundit and former England, Tottenham and Leeds goalkeeper.
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider that Frank is yet to make his final decision on Solomon’s position in his plans at Tottenham, but the Dane’s recent comments imply that he isn’t.
Speaking on the latest Inside Track, Robinson was asked if Solomon’s absence from Frank‘s left winger namecheck is a sign that he’ll up for sale this summer, and urged Leeds to capitalise if that’s the case.
“I’d really like to think so, because he was an integral part of everything [Leeds] did last year”, Robinson told Football Insider.
“The problem is, he’s contracted to Tottenham until 2028 so they’re going to have to pay a decent fee to get him, and I don’t suspect they’ll be the only ones looking at him.

“That’s an area of the squad that Tottenham are so heavily oversubscribed in anyway – you look at the players that they’ve got, I think there’ll be some movement from Tottenham going out anyway.
“Johnson, Kudus, Odobert, Richarlison, Tel – they can all play in these wide attacking areas.
Maddison’s out for a long time, but I don’t think that affects the future of Manor Solomon.
“If Leeds can get that deal done, that will be a really big, important player for them joining into next year.”
Sunderland and Leeds have spent more than all-but six Premier League teams this summer in their respective bids to stay up next season, but Daniel Farke‘s squad still has several key areas to address.

A centre-forward remains top of the list for Leeds amid their continued frustrations over the pursuit of Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, and a surprise move for Aleksandar Mitrovic has been floated as a possibility.
Leeds’ long-winded attempt to sign Igor Paixao from Feyenoord has already proven unsuccessful, and as the days tick by, bringing Solomon back to Elland Road becomes a very sensible, and feasible prospect.
