Leeds United will need to quickly land a reunion with Manor Solomon after their deal for Facundo Buonanotte fell through.

After Tottenham beat Chelsea to the signing of Xavi Simons, the Blues quickly found a stop-gap alternative.

Chelsea are expected to sign Brighton’s Buonanotte on a season-long loan which is devastating news to the Peacocks who had been working to bring in the Argentinian.

This has only ramped up pressure on re-signing the Israeli winger, especially after Football Insider revealed in May that Solomon’s future at Tottenham is an open race with Daniel Farke keen on bringing the Spurs outcast back.

Former scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 17 June that Burnley and Leeds want to sign Solomon with the latter seeming to be in the driving seat.

As a Spurs fan, I’ve been very surprised with our treatment of the Israel international since we brought him in back in July 2023.

A speedy winger who is technically astute, on paper he appears to be an ideal Thomas Frank player but thus far has not been given a look back in in north London.

Due to the abundance of options at the Dane’s fingertips, the 26-year-old is surplus to requirements for the Lilywhites and the Peacocks have to swoop in to reignite their blazing relationship from last season in the Championship.

The five-foot-six winger enjoyed a fruitful campaign, scoring 10 times and assisting on 12 occasions, including a crucial title-winning goal on the last day of the season.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will be desperate to get an unwanted player off his books so Farke and the club must quicken the pace to land the Israeli before the window shuts.

After just two appearances, the Whites new signing Noah Okafor is already set to be out of action with a reported groin problem (Yorkshire Evening Post).

The former AC Milan man’s injury-induced absence is yet another reason why the Yorkshire outfit must go out all guns blazing to bring back Solomon to Elland Road.

Newcastle on the weekend is set to be a mountain of a game with Dan James and Willy Gnonto currently the only wingers available to Farke.

This highlights that one more injury to the wide players could be catastrophic for the German, demonstrating the urgency with which the club must operate to bring in the Israeli.

Fans are aware of his love for the club and wanting to return up north, yet the lethargy shown by the board is frustrating for everyone.
