Leeds could be about to allow Jack Harrison to leave the club in the summer window if they are able to land a new forward target from AC Milan.

Harrison has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Everton, notching five goals and four assists in 73 appearances across his separate spells.

The 28-year-old is disliked by the majority of Leeds‘ fanbase for the manner in which he left the club two years ago following their relegation to the Championship, but has still been reintegrated into Daniel Farke’s squad throughout pre-season so far.

Football Insider revealed last month that Everton were mulling over whether to reignite their interest in signing Harrison despite opting against a permanent deal when his loan spell ended, with his bridges believed to be burned at Elland Road.

Former West Ham scout and Moyes ally Mick Brown told Football Insider in March that Moyes did not rate Harrison as part of his plans for the future on Merseyside, and while that may still not be the case, he could be about to be pushed out of the Leeds squad regardless as they target a high-profile attacking signing.

Farke is yet to properly bolster his forward line so far this summer, but Leeds are closing in on a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his recent release by the Toffees, and more attacking acquisitions look to be on their way soon.

According to a new report from The Athletic (14 August), the Whites are interested in a move for AC Milan forward Noah Okafor, and even though there has been no official approach at this stage, the 25-year-old is a player that Leeds are looking at in the final weeks of the window.

The Swiss international is capable of operating as a centre-forward or on either flank, and he would surely be joining Leeds as a primary option on the left wing ahead of Largie Ramazani and Harrison.

Okafor’s potential arrival at Elland Road would push Harrison down the pecking order to third-choice in his preferred left-sided attacking position, and he already holds that status on the right flank with both Dan James and Wilfred Gnonto ahead of him for places there.

It would certainly not come as a shock, therefore, to see Farke sanction the 28-year-old’s exit soon if Okafor does join the club, as he is already on the periphery of the squad, is still in the bad books of many fans and is not even much of a threat in the top-flight with just four goals scored in 63 Premier League appearances over the last two campaigns at Goodison Park.

Not only has Okafor been linked with a move to West Yorkshire recently, but Liverpool’s Ben Doak is also a player of interest to Farke and would be joining the club to be an option ahead of Harrison.

Doak is a player that Leeds are looking at signing this summer, according to The Athletic (7 August), with Farke looking to add another winger to his squad and a deal to be done if the Whites are able to match the Reds’ £20million asking price.

Doak is being tracked by both West Ham and Wolves too right now, with a move away from Anfield possible in the coming weeks, so Leeds would have to offer the best package for his services if they wish to get a deal done, and in turn, offload Harrison soon after.

The fact that they are now being linked with a move for Okafor proves that Farke is pretty desperate to get new forward additions in with the new season just days away, and it seems likely that the former Man City man moves on before the transfer window closes as a result.
