Everton have completed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea.

The midfielder followed Enzo Maresca from Leicester to Stamford Bridge last summer but struggled to sustain a place in the team, starting just two Premier League matches and clocking only 259 minutes in the competition.

That said, Dewsbury-Hall did play a prominent role in Chelsea’s Uefa Conference League and Fifa Club World Cup triumphs, and should offer a serious upgrade to David Moyes’ midfield.

Dewsbury-Hall is the Toffees‘ fifth signing of the summer, alongside Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, Mark Travers and the conversion of Carlos Alcaraz’s loan into a permanent deal.

Everton announced the signing of Dewsbury-Hall on Wednesday via their social media channels, and naturally, there was a warm welcome from the Toffees’ fanbase

But quite bizarrely, there was also a flood of Chelsea fans in the comments insisting Everton address Dewsbury-Hall as the ‘World Champion’ that he is, with some even going as far as calling him a ‘legend’.

Evertonians will hope Dewsbury-Hall is a success at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the 26-year-old already picking up an incredible Oasis fan song.

While Dewsbury-Hall is an excellent addition, David Moyes needs more.

The Toffees are particularly thin on the wings, with Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye their only senior options.

Jack Grealish is one name heavily linked with Everton this summer in what would be a real statement signing as the club move into their new stadium.

Even for a loan, the finances involved could be a big commitment for Everton.

However, according to Premier League scout Mick Brown, it is a deal the club are pushing hard to complete with Manchester City.

“Everton have been looking at Jack Grealish,” Brown told Football Insider.

“David Moyes is a fan of his and believes he would add that bit of quality they need.

“I can’t see how Everton would be able to pay the sort of money City would want to get him permanently, so they’re trying to get him on loan.

“He would be a great option for them, definitely, even if it is only for one season.

“During his time there, they’ll be able to assess whether his performances are matching their expectations.

“If so, then maybe they could see what it would cost to make the move more long-term next year, but if not then it’s no issue because there’s no major financial outlay.

“At this stage of the window, I think they’ll start doing some more business and pushing to get these deals over the line.

“Grealish’s future has to be resolved and they could offer him that opportunity.

“Either way, he’s going to have to move from City before this transfer window closes.

“He’s not part of the plans there and there are a few clubs who could do with a player like him, I think we’ve spoken before about Newcastle.

“But if Everton want him, I think that would be an excellent move for all parties.“
