Liverpool striker Divock Origi has committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension.

The Belgian striker signed a new long-term contract (per Liverpool’s official website) with the club following a season where Origi etched his name into Liverpool history as the former Lille attacker played a pivotal role in the Reds’ run to a sixth Champions League trophy.

The 24-year-old scored a brace in the 4-0 win against Barcelona that saw Liverpool book their ticket to the final, where Origi again put his name on the score sheet as the attacker scored the second goal of the night to seal a 2-0 win for the Reds over Tottenham.

Of course, reaction to Origi’s contract extension was rife on social media, and fans took to Twitter to express their delight in the Belgian committing his future to the Merseyside club.
