Championship promotion contenders Leicester City face a battle with Sheffield United to land Tottenham winger Manor Solomon on loan before the end of the transfer window.
Solomon spent last season in the second-tier on loan at Leeds United, and he was massively impressive at Elland Road as he notched 10 goals and 12 assists in 39 league appearances.
Football Insider revealed in June that Leeds and Burnley were interested in signing Solomon, with his future seemingly set to lie away from Tottenham following the arrival of Thomas Frank.
Ex-Whites goalkeeper Paul Robinson previously told Football Insider that Leeds are doing “all they can” to get Solomon back this summer, yet Daniel Farke’s side have brought in Noah Okafor and have Jack Harrison back from loan, and so look to have moved on from being interested.
Solomon still looks set to depart North London before the end of the window on Monday, 1 September, and now a new side has registered their interest with another Championship move potentially beckoning.

According to The Star (29 August), Solomon could find his way to Leicester before Monday’s deadline, with fellow second-tier side Sheffield United also registering their interest in his services.
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 19 August that Solomon is “certain” to leave Tottenham before the end of the summer window, and so either the Foxes or the Blades could now be set to swoop as they each aim to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Football Insider verdict
Leicester’s 2024/25 season could not have gone much worse as they were relegated back to the Championship with a whimper, and their woes were compounded by not having key man Abdul Fatawu available for the majority of the season.
The Ghanaian international was one of their best performer’s last time they won the Championship title, and his recovery from injury has led to rumours around his future at the club this summer now that they are not in the top-flight once more.

Sunderland submitted a £28million bid for Fatawu earlier in August, but that bid was seemingly rejected by the Foxes with Football Insider revealing that Sunderland are now unlikely to pursue another move for Fatawu this summer.
That obviously does not mean that other teams won’t also explore a deal to sign him, even at this late stage, and Leicester’s £30m valuation of his services may well be met soon.
In fact, the Foxes’ interest in a high-profile attacker like Solomon could point to Fatawu potentially being set to head out of the exit door, and even though he would be a loss, fans of the East Midlands outfit would no doubt be pleased if Solomon joined as his replacement.
