With Steve Bruce set to be sacked by Newcastle, the club’s new owners are on the hunt for a new manager.

“I heard the Lampard shout, but I’d probably go for Graham Potter or Brendan Rodgers, I’d put both them two above him.”

It won’t be Brendan Rodgers, however, with reports stating the Leicester boss is ‘not interested’ in taking the job at St James’ Park.

The former Liverpool and Celtic boss Rodgers won the FA Cup with Leicester last season and has been touted as a possible replacement for Bruce.

Former Premier League striker Darren Bent has stated that he would have preferred Rodgers to get the job over any of those names but his other shout – Brighton boss Graham Potter – could still be an option, however.

Newcastle were bought by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund last week and are looking to replace current boss Bruce.

The Foxes have struggled so far this season and are currently 13th in the Premier League, with just two wins so far this campaign.
