Clarkson, who has been on the Reds' books since the age of six, wasted no time in kicking off his career in Scotland in style as he fired home a spectacular fourth goal for Aberdeen during an emphatic 4-1 over St Mirren.
If this loan with Leighton is a success," said Goodwin post-match.
The 20-year-old midfielder only joined the Dons late on Friday evening after an agreement had been reached between Liverpool and the Scottish outfit, allowing the midfielder to join Jim Goodwin's side on a season-long loan.
The goal was probably one of my best hits," said Clarkson.
"I'd imagine Liverpool will look fondly on us next time."
