Jarell Quansah is once again drawing attention on the transfer market, and this time, Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly in the mix.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Leverkusen added the 22-year-old Liverpool defender to their shortlist for a new centre-back, alongside Loic Bade.
The German club is actively preparing to bolster their defence.
This isn’t the first time Leverkusen and Liverpool have shared the negotiation table.
Jeremie Frimpong’s transfer and Florian Wirtz’s transfer discussions have kept both clubs in close contact throughout the summer.
Reports from Lewis Steele and David Lynch suggest Liverpool value Quansah at approximately £50 million, a price tag that reflects both his potential and his homegrown status.
The Mail notes interest in the player is building in both England and Germany.

Quansah made 25 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool during the 2024/25 campaign, starting 13.
But with Tim Oermann heading out on loan and Tah leaving, reinforcements are clearly a priority.
Romano noted any potential move for Quansah would be separate from the Florian Wirtz transfer, even though the two clubs are deep in negotiations over the latter.
With Ibrahima Konate’s contract renewal talks reportedly progressing and Joe Gomez’s future still uncertain, the Reds are unlikely to allow more than one centre-back to depart this window.
Quansah, a product of Liverpool’s academy since the age of five, represents a significant asset, both in footballing and financial terms.
But if a club meets the valuation, Liverpool will face a decision.
