Arne Slot isn't messing about with his team as he names Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike in his starting XI.

They are joined by Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

There is no place for Ryan Gravenberch after he became a father last night and Alexis Mac Allister is only fit enough for the bench.

That sees Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai start together in midfield.

Meanwhile, Palace's two new additions are Borna Sosa and Walter Benitez, and they are very much back-up players.

But Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta all start.

All four have been linked with moves away, but they remain and start here.

Hello, and welcome to talkSPORT.com's live coverage of the 2025/26 Community Shield.

This is officially the season opener, and it sees the Premier League champions take on the FA Cup holders.

Liverpool and Crystal Palace meet at Wembley, and by the end of the afternoon, the first piece of silverware will be dished out.

These two sides have had contrasting summers, with the Reds backing Arne Slot to the tune of around £250 million.

Meanwhile, Palace have managed to keep all of their stars, but Oliver Glasner has only seen two new players arrive.

But all of that will be forgotten this afternoon as top domestic football returns.
