Firmino ranks first in the league this season for big chances missed, which is when a player is expected to score an opportunity in front of goal.

The 28-year-old plays the false nine role so effectively bringing others into play when he drops deep and is also the scorer of some big goals, with Liverpool on the verge of a first Premier League title.

The South American has missed 19 big chances to sit top of the pile, while Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus (18), Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham (17) and Burnley’s Chris Wood (17) also rank highly for the 2019/20 campaign so far.

Firmino has managed 11 goals across all competitions this campaign with eight coming in the league, but his finishing is still an area that could do with some improvement and becoming more clinical could help him step up his game to yet another level.

But there is a rare weakness in his game that can be highlighted by statistics on the Premier League’s official website.

Roberto Fimrino has turned out to be an elite signing for Liverpool after they picked him up from Hoffenheim for £29million (BBC) back in 2015.

The Brazilian attacker has become a real talisman during the Jurgen Klopp reign at Anfield, with 77 goals and 59 assists in 235 appearances for the Merseyside club in total.
