Liverpool have discovered their Champions League league-phase opponents for the 2025-26 season following Thursday’s draw.

Liverpool Champions League opponents revealed

This will be the second campaign under the revamped format, which features 36 teams in the opening stage of the competition.

The clubs are divided into four pots of nine, with each team drawn to face two opponents from every pot – one at home and one away.

In principle, no team was drawn against a club from its own domestic league, and sides cannot face more than two opponents from the same country.

The Reds topped the 2024-25 league phase, winning seven of their eight matches, before being knocked out in the round of 16 by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Arne Slot’s side will now aim to build on last season’s strong league-phase performance and push beyond the round of 16 this time around.

Under the format, the top eight teams from the league stage automatically qualify for the round of 16, while clubs finishing 9th to 24th will contest a two-legged play-off for a place in the knockout rounds.

The competition’s draw has placed the Reds against the following clubs:

Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Frankfurt, PSV, Marseille, Qarabag, and Galatasaray.
