Following on from our fantastic, and slightly unexpected, Premier League title run in the 2024/25 campaign under manager Arne Slot in his debut season atAnfieldto rack up No 20, it has been a busy and interesting summer so far at the club.

With Federico Chiesa's £10 million arrival from Italian Serie A giants Juventus being our only capture of last summer, our 46 year old Dutchman has been very busy over the last few weeks with our recruitment team and we have already seen the arrival of five senior fresh faces to the group with a spend of well over £200 million so far.

With the signings of Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Hugo Ekitike, the squad has been balanced with good money being received for the likes of Jarrell Quansah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Caoimhin Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Fans who like a flutter will be pouring over the pre seasons odds for the opening weekend right now, but others who prefer a different type of online gaming may be dipping their heads into the best bitcoin and crypto casinos available as they look at what their options are to help while away the inevitable international breaks that will soon be on the doorsteps of football fans up and down the country.

With the Community Shield now in the rear view, it is all eyes to this weekend's 2025/26 Premier League big kick off and the Anfield faithful have long known that we would start our league title defence with a home tie against Bournemouth in the new fangled Friday evening broadcast slot.

Whilst most fans naturally have the full focus on the build up preparations for the game, it does not appear that our summer spending is yet over as we continue to be very heavily linked with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace centre half Marc Guehi and both pieces of rumour mill speculation are intriguing for their own reasons.

The potential Palace saga is a little easier.

Having just been confirmed as being demoted to the Europa Conference League with their CAS appeal failing, they also stand to lose out on a significant chuck of money on Guehi should he run his contract down and ultimately leave as a free agent.

It appears Anfield is likely to be his eventual destination as Palace have not got the bidding war that they hoped for on their 25 year old skipper and we have reportedly already opened tentative negotiations.

Some see him as Virgil van Dijk's successor, others believe he would be a great addition for a claimed £40 million, but this is not a done deal and playing time will factor into his decision given it is a World Cup year.

The Isak situation is far more confusing.

We have already had a £110 million offer rejected with the Geordies holding out for £150 million, and although he is apparently 'adamant that he will never represent Newcastle again' and that he is determined to join on with us, we have all the power here and are unofficially sticking to the line that our offer is the deal, or we will just walk away.

Whether this brinkmanship from us works and sees a deal done by deadline day remains to be seen, but it is certainly the story of the summer transfer window.
