It comes as thousands of people head to the city for the Liverpool FC parade on Monday, May 26.
After securing their historic 20th English league title with a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield last month, excitement has been building across Merseyside for the club’s much-anticipated victory celebrations.
National Rail warned customers who are travelling between Stafford/Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street that the stations are experiencing a high volume of passengers and are "severely overcrowded".
At Liverpool Lime Street, there will be a queuing system in place.
Passengers are being asked to allow plenty of time to travel.
Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street are also "extremely busy" and National Rail advised people to use alternative routes to travel.

Rail replacement transport is on site at Stafford, Crewe and Runcorn and will be introduced should it be needed, National Rail said.
An additional train shuttle has been introduced to run between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.
These will call additionally at Winsford, Hartford, Runcorn, and Liverpool South Parkway.

Rail replacement transport is on site at Stafford, Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway and will be introduced should it be needed.
For Merseyrail customers, James Street and Liverpool Lime Street underground low level stations will be closed all day.
The mainline station at Liverpool Lime Street for National Rail train services is open as normal.
If you are travelling on the Northern line, you will need to use Moorfields station to board or alight services in Liverpool city centre.
If you are travelling on the Wirral line, you will need to use Liverpool Central station to board or alight services in Liverpool city centre.
For Northern customers, tickets can also be used, at no extra cost, on the following alternative services:

Additionally, rail replacement transport is running from Preston/Wigan North Western/Manchester Oxford Road towards Liverpool Lime Street.
These will remain on site at Liverpool and following the conclusion of the parade, will be introduced should they be needed.
