Liverpool FC players paid an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva at a funeral service today.
A delegation of Liverpool players led by Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson were in attendance at the funeral.
Van Dijk and Robertson were holding floral tributes featuring the shirt numbers worn by Jota and Silva at their respective clubs.
Members of the public lined the streets outside the church to pay their respects to two people who were loved so so dearly in the Gondomar community.
Van Dijk held the No.20 shirt, which Jota made his own since signing for Liverpool in 2020, while Robertson was holding 30 in tribute to one worn by Silva at his club FC Penafiel.

As the players walked towards the church, members of the public broke into an impromptu round of applause to show their support for the moving floral tribute.

The Liverpool delegation included head coach Arne Slot and players Conor Bradley, Alexis Mac Allister, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Former Reds players Caoimhin Kelleher, James Milner and Jordan Henderson joined the mourners and members of the Portugal team were also in attendance at the service which was broadcast on a loudspeaker to people outside the church so members of the public could pay tribute.
Former Everton boss and current manager of the Portugal national side, Roberto Martinez, reflected on the service after it ended.
He told the ECHO and other press: "I wanted to say it is a really, really sad day as you can imagine.

"But today was a day [that showed] we are a very, very large but close family.
Today we are one football family." The Portugal manager led a delegation of Jota and Silva's compatriots that included Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes."
