Two good saves from Brown early on kept Liverpool in the game and confident with handling and ball at his feet. Given a tough examination during the opening quarter but able to raid forward as got on top. Steady at centre-back and provided welcome composure as Morecambe began to take control after the interval. Put under pressure by the physical threat of Mellon and Brown at times, but refused to be flustered and showed great maturity for a 16-year-old. Defensively sound and forged a good understanding with Scanlon and Clark down the left.
Got through a lot of work on the right side of midfield in helping keep on the front foot.
Offered himself constantly down the flanks and his willing runs and ability to keep the ball led to assists for the opening two goals.
