Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is available for selection ahead of the Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace.

As Premier League champions and FA Cup winners respectively, the two teams will meet this weekend in the traditional season curtain-raiser at Wembley Stadium.

Ironically, Liverpool and Palace met on the final day of the 2024-25 Premier League season in a match that ended all square at Anfield as the hosts snatched a point late on thanks to an 84th minute equaliser from Mohamed Salah.

At that stage in the game the Reds had been playing for almost 20 minutes with a man less after Gravenberch was shown a straight red card for a professional foul on Daichi Kamada.

However, as that was the season finale the Dutchman is yet to serve his suspension.

Furthermore, as his dismissal was not for violent conduct, he is only expected to banned will be for one match.

Is Ryan Gravenberch banned for Liverpool vs Crystal Palace?

Gravenberch is eligible to be involved in the Community Shield clash.

This is because the Dutchman's resulting ban will be served in the Premier League which means he will miss the opener against Bournemouth next Friday night.

Dominik Szoboszlai is an option to drop a little deeper to play alongside Gravenberch which would then allow summer signing Florian Wirtz to operate in his favoured attacking midfield role behind the centre-forward.
