Arne Slot is expected to name a much-changed Liverpool team for their Carabao Cup game against Southampton.
Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai will all be rested after Saturday’s 2-1 Merseyside derby win over Everton.
New £125million signing Alexander Isak could start up front in place of Hugo Ekitike, with Slot eager to get minutes into his legs.
Slot may take a look at some of the younger players in his squad including 18-year-old centre-half Giovanni Leoni, who was signed on deadline day for £26m from Parma.
Jeremie Frimpong will be looking to make an impression at right-back as he returns from injury.
There is also likely to be a change in goal with Georgi Mamardashvili set to get a start.
After scoring the winner against last month, 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha is also be pushing for a start.
With Liverpool top of the Premier league, Slot is likely to see this as the perfect opportunity to give fringe squad players Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa a run out.
All three have seen limited action so far this season.

Wataru Endo is set to get a start in midfield.
Slot has never been afraid to giving young players a chance so it would not be a surprise to see significant action for Trey Nyoni and Jayden Danns, who featured in pre-season.
