Bayern Munich have agreed a €75 million (£65.6m/$88.1m) deal to sign Luis Díaz from Liverpool, with the Colombian winger set to undergo a medical within 24 hours ahead of the move to the German club's Allianz Arena, marking a major transfer ahead of their new Bundesliga campaign.

Díaz has been granted permission to leave Liverpool's preseason tour in Tokyo to finalize the transfer, which comes after Bayern’s improved bid was accepted following an earlier €67.5m offer that Liverpool rejected. The 28-year-old will reportedly sign a four-year plus one-year option contract with Bayern Munich.

The transfer follows a year-long period where Díaz had expressed his desire to leave Liverpool, having signaled this as early as summer 2024. Contract extension efforts between Liverpool and Díaz failed due to differences over offers and demands. Liverpool had previously rejected bids from both Bayern Munich and Barcelona, maintaining that Díaz was not for sale initially.

Last season, Díaz enjoyed his most productive campaign at Liverpool, scoring 17 goals in all competitions and playing a key role in helping the club secure the Premier League title under Arne Slot. The forward joined Liverpool from FC Porto in January 2022, with his contract running until 2027.
