Arne Slot is set to become Liverpool’s new manager this summer.

The 45-year-old will take the reins at Anfield after three years in charge of Feyenoord when Jurgen Klopp departs the club at the end of the season.

Slot moved ahead of Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim as the Reds’ preferred choice to succeed the outgoing German, who will leave after nine years.

A compensation package is now verbally agreed between owners Fenway Sports Group and their Eredivisie counterparts worth an initial €9 million (£7.7M).

Sipke Hulsoff, Slot’s assistant at De Kuip, is expected to follow his superior to Merseyside alongside Feyenoord’s head of performance Ruben Peeters.

Klopp publicly endorsed Slot’s candidacy earlier on Friday prior to a package being struck between the two clubs just weeks before the campaign’s finale.

Since succeeding Dick Advocaat in 2021, Slot has guided Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season in addition to clinching the Dutch Cup this term.
