Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Mark Krosche has already expressed uncertainty surrounding the future of star forward Hugo Ekitike following Liverpool links.
It was suggested that Chelsea were their main rivals over the €100million-rated (around £83m) forward but the German outfit were yet to receive any offers.
BILD followed it up shortly after and reported that Liverpool were in a two-horse race with the Londoners after Arsenal pulled out of the running to focus on Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko as the answer to their strike problems.

The Reds are also interested in another Bundesliga winner with Bayer Leverkusen as Slot eyes a potentially record-breaking deal to sign Florian Wirtz.
BILD add that the Premier League champions are prepared to 'dig deep' despite their ongoing pursuit of the Germany international.
"He's one of the most interesting strikers on the European market," Krösche told Sport 1.
