Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing Parma's teenage defender Giovanni Leoni, as the club continues its pursuit of a new center-back to replace Jarell Quansah.
Leoni, 18, has emerged as one of Serie A's best young defenders, attracting interest from the Reds, as well as other Premier League clubs such as Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) says that Leoni's preference would be to join Inter Milan, but Inter's current priority is to strengthen in attack, with the club hopeful of signing Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.
Leoni only joined Parma from Sampdoria last year, but his promising performances for the Italian outfit have made him a player in demand.

Liverpool's need for a new center-back was underlined over the weekend as Gomez flew back from the Reds' pre-season tour in Asia due to an Achilles injury.
Gomez has a reputation for being injury-prone, and his 2024-25 campaign was ended at the beginning of February by a hamstring injury he sustained in an FA Cup game against Plymouth.
Addressing Gomez's latest setback while speaking in China, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said: "He was, of course, with us for the first part of the week, but he had some Achilles problems.
"We thought it was better to assess it back in England and for him to work on him to come back to the team, probably in more ideal circumstances for him than be part of the group that every time goes out
So, we decided to let him go back to England
Joe Gomez returned to England due to an achilles injury
Irrespective of when Gomez returns, it's clear that Slot cannot hang his hat on the 28-year-old due to his fitness record.
Another player who Liverpool continues to be linked with is England international Marc Guehi, who recently entered the final 12 months of his contract at Crystal Palace.
Guehi has no intention of signing a new deal at Palace, and if he does not leave this summer, he will be able to quit the Selhurst Park club for nothing in 2026.
Football Insider reports that Liverpool is quietly working on a deal to sign Guehi, describing the club's interest as "concrete," with a fresh approach to Palace expected to be made over the coming weeks.
