Liverpool are one of several clubs showing interest in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Heorhij Sudakov ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The daily newspaper claims that “Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool have all checked on his progress this season while there is also interest from Italy.”
Sudakov has scored eight goals for both his club and country this season, including one in Shakhtar’s recent 3-0 victory over Odessa last Sunday.
The 21-year-old, known for his playmaking abilities, recently signed a new contract with Shakhtar, extending his commitment until 2028.
This new deal includes a release clause of approximately £125 million, which will become active from June onwards.
Despite this release clause, Shakhtar are believed to be open to considering sensible offers for the Ukraine international.
Chelsea are said to be interested in Sudakov as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his squad for next season.
The Daily Mail further stated that “Chelsea are understood to have held discussions with his representatives in recent weeks to ascertain the figures involved while Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin was a guest recently at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea beat Everton 6-0.”
Afterwards, Palkin confirmed to media: “This summer window, he has a big chance to move to some big clubs.
“We have had some contacts with big clubs and some are not negotiating with us directly but are getting a feel for the summer environment.”
“He will definitely move to a top European club this summer?
“When I was at Chelsea versus Everton, many people asked me about Sudako.”
Sudakov shares a close friendship with Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk and has humorously remarked that his former teammate is missing him in London.
Mudryk, who himself transferred from Shakhtar to Chelsea last summer, has reportedly found it challenging to adapt to life in the capital.
He maintains regular contact with Sudakov and often advises him to consider a move to England.
